The short fifth string is a fixed high G. It can be open or Muted/Not Played, but is never fretted or moved with the rest of a shape.
Suggested fingerings are a starting point. Study voicings may be impractical as complete chords, but remain useful for chord-tone study, arpeggios, and soloing.
